Overview:

Artisan showcased its innovative engineering in the Grand Canal Theatre signage project, blending sustainable practices, traditional craftsmanship, and modern technology to create a visually striking and durable signage solution.

Project Specifications:

  • Dimensions: Height of 16 meters and weight of 3 tonnes.
  • Location: Positioned 10 meters above ground for enhanced visibility.
  • Construction: Composed of a fully galvanized frame and aluminum cladding.
  • Finish: Two-pack acrylic paint for durability.
  • Illumination: Advanced LED technology for bright, efficient lighting.

Engineering and Design:

The design team developed a base cage tailored for structural stability, verified by an engineer. The project incorporated traditional techniques with modern materials and processes.

Installation and Logistics:

Installation involved a truck-mounted Hiab crane for precision and reduced time, using a two-part construction for easier assembly.

Health and Safety:

Detailed risk assessments and method statements ensured safe installation, addressing the challenges of the sign’s size and weight.

Sustainability:

Focus on sustainability through recyclable materials like galvanized steel and aluminum, and energy-efficient LED lighting.

Outcome:

The sign has been a prominent landmark for nearly 15 years, exemplifying the durability and quality of Artisan’s work.
